That’s it, the France Identity application is finally available on the official Android and iPhone application stores. From today, you can therefore digitize your identity card in a few simple steps. Be careful however, the application is still in its beta version, so you may encounter some bugs.
We were waiting for it, here it is finally. After some setbacks, particularly on iPhone, the France Idété application has finally officially arrived on the Play Store and the App Store, inviting all users to test the new way of storing their identity card. Attention : this is not yet the final version of the application, but a new beta version bringing new features. Bugs are therefore to be expected if you want to embark on the adventure.
As a reminder, France Identity is the official government application for scanning your identity card and having access to all platforms linked to FranceConnect. To use it, however, you will need to have new identity cards equipped with a chip, which will allow your smartphone to read all its information in a few seconds thanks to NFC technology. How to scan your identity card on your smartphone with France Identity
You can now claim your place in the France Identity beta by going directly to your smartphone’s application store. Here’s how:
- Download the app France Identity via the corresponding link below
- Open the app
- Push the button Continue, then on To validate And Continue again
- Bring your ID card then enter the 6 digits at the bottom right
- Then scan the NFC chip of your identity card by placing your smartphone over it
- Then select the verification of your identity by FranceConnect
- Identify yourself with the platform of your choice

Your ID card is now stored in your smartphone. In addition to the usual bug fixes, this new beta brings security tips, for the creation of the personal code, first tests on certified accounts and better error management.
