The Assembly football team does not want RN players

Dhe political differences that take over well beyond the benches of the hemicycle. Left-wing deputies have decided to boycott a charity match of the National Assembly football team to protest against the presence in the workforce of several elected members of the RN, LFI and PS parliamentarians announced on Tuesday, September 27.

The patron saint of Renaissance deputies Aurore Bergé also recommended to her troops “not to participate in a match which will give rise to a ‘team photo’”: gold “we do not play in the same team. Neither extreme right nor extreme left, ”she wrote in a message of which Agence France-Presse had a copy. But majority deputies intend to participate in the match organized in Paris on Wednesday evening, including the co-captain of the team, Karl Olive (Renaissance), said the latter.

Against the “trivialization of the far right”, LFI and PS have chosen not to participate in this match, confirming information from the Parisian. Parliamentarians and former professional players are preparing to play for the benefit of the “e-Enfance” association, which fights against school bullying and cyberbullying, with the national number 3018. Rebellious elected officials such as Éric Coquerel, Ugo Bernalicis or David Guiraud believe that the RN wanted to “use this match to normalize”, according to a parliamentary source. They are therefore boycotting the match and intend to financially support the association directly.

They “want to show that they have melted into the mass and that they are now parliamentarians like the others”, criticized the party’s first secretary Olivier Faure. “The challenge facing us, as we can clearly see with Italy, is that trivialization also leads to alliances between the right and the far right, this is how the far right can govern. We have no particular reason to use it as a stepladder, ”he said.

“We had the opportunity to offer a benevolent image of the Assembly”

This boycott “is stupid”, abounds the other captain, LR Pierre-Henri Dumont. “It’s a charity match” and “LFI said nothing when they played in the parliamentary XV with the RN Louis Aliot”, he insists, in reference to the rugby team which sometimes brought together the deputy of Seine -Saint-Denis Alexis Corbière and Louis Aliot, ex-deputy of the Pyrénées-Orientales, now mayor of Perpignan. The former socialist deputy Gisèle Biémouret co-chaired this XV.

At the RN, the deputy Julien Odoul denounces a “regrettable sectarianism” while “the cause is more important, for children victims of cyberbullying”.
