A meticulous restoration

In 2011, two years after the incident, Noel Gallagher, who now has a solo career, asks Philippe Dubreuille to restore the instrument. After a month, the perforated body is repaired, the handle straightened. The instrument returned to service for some time before Noel Gallagher sold it, in May 2017, to a French collector. Who in turn decides to get rid of it through the Artpèges music gallery and the Lemon Auction auction house.

A growth market

This emblem of virilism, however, seems to still have a bright future ahead of it. “Since the pandemic, guitar prices have tripled,” confirms Arthur Perault, co-founder of Artpèges.
