The new “Bachelorette” Sharon Battiste has been looking for her dream man since Wednesday. How did viewers react to the start of the ninth season?

Sharon Battiste (30) is now looking for her dream man on the RTL dating show “The Bachelorette”. The ninth season started on Wednesday (June 15) on RTL (or online via RTL+) – did the first episode get good ratings?

In the target group of 14 to 49 year olds, “The Bachelorette” reached 0.57 million viewers, which corresponds to a market share of 12.7 percent. Compared to the Season 8 premiere on July 14, 2021, the show cut according to “DWDL” with that better off. At that time it was 11.4 percent. On the other hand, a film with Elyas M’Barek (40) won prime time last Wednesday: “Fack Ju Göhte 3” in Sat.1 performed best with 0.61 million viewers and a 13.8 percent market share in the target group. “TV Total” on ProSieben reached 0.44 million and 10.2 percent.

Among the total audience aged 3 and over, “The Big Terra X-Show” (ZDF) achieved a primetime market share of 14.9 percent (3.07 million viewers) and thus the win. “The End of Patience” (Das Erste) came in behind with 2.9 million (14.1 percent). For comparison: “Fack Ju Göhte 3” reached 1.26 million viewers (6.3 percent) and “The Bachelorette” remained at 1.25 million (6.1 percent).

“The Bachelorette”: Why is Sharon Battiste participating?

RTL seems to have made a decent start to the season. Three men had to pack their bags again in the first episode of “Bachelorette”. In an interview with spot on news, Sharon Battiste revealed in advance why she wanted to be on the dating show: “I’m 30 and I want to be in love again. For my future I also want my own little family at some point. That’s why I have this great one journey perceived.” She finds it “extremely exciting to meet 20 men who are all very different. Do they make an effort? How do they try to be remembered? How do they fight for me? In the past I have often experienced that I had to convince men of myself . That’s different on this trip – and nice to see.”
