Semi-finals for “The Bachelorette” – and still no big feelings. Can the dream dates change anything?

It is the penultimate episode of this year’s season of “The Bachelorette” (Wednesdays, 8:15 pm, RTL or TVNow) and Maxime Herbord (26) has a big problem: She is not in love. She has taken all three remaining candidates to the heart, but it doesn’t beat any faster, as she has to admit at the beginning of the episode. Quickly to the dream dates on Zakynthos, maybe something will finally happen in the heart chamber.

Raphael takes his time

Raphael (23) can experience the Bachelorette classic: helicopter tour over the Greek island. “I know that we get along well, now you have to see what is still there,” says Maxime, who does not give up hope. Nevertheless, the turtle, which Maxime sees in the sea from the air, remains the highlight for the time being. Hours and thousands of opportunities later, Raphael dares to kiss the Bachelorette – that’s what she’s been waiting for. He is also allowed to stay overnight, but is also unsure the next morning: “I cannot interpret it one hundred percent.” Maxime also seems disappointed: “I haven’t fallen in love yet,” she says after the first night together. “And maybe I wished that Raphael had it already.”

Zico is getting too brash

Next attempt: Zico (30) goes on a road trip in the Bulli. It starts off bumpy because Maxime has difficulty concentrating on the traffic and talking at the same time. After the two swap places and Zico drives while Maxime takes over the music selection, it doesn’t get any better: Zico can’t do that much with Maxime’s music, “which I find weird because it’s pretty good!” This is not necessarily a problem: “I like it when I have someone by my side who is not one hundred percent like me. Because that also creates a topic of conversation.” Looks like Zico: “Our first argument! Yay!”

In the evening, the two of them make themselves comfortable on bales of hay and look at the starry sky through a telescope. Maxime can let himself go and enjoys the conversations and teasing with Zico. He is also allowed to stay overnight, they sit outside until 4:30 in the morning. But: “There were also moments when I realized that it wasn’t actually his pace and that he would like to be much faster. But that wasn’t right for me.”

Max has to overcome himself

Max (31) will be the last to get his dream date, which will be particularly exciting for him. The two go by boat across the sea. And again a turtle steals the show from the date – but Max is just as fascinated by the animal as Maxime. A sign? “Max is a bit like I think I am in a lot of things.” She also likes the fact that he overcomes his fear of the sea and goes snorkeling for her. In the evening the two meet again for a glass of wine in the open air on the cozy sofa. She is quickly back in Max’s arms. “You can compare Max with a tattooed Peter Pan,” she says afterwards. She finds the combination exciting – and so Max is allowed to stay overnight. The next morning there is a stone from the beach as a souvenir. And then it gets serious.

Even if the audience didn’t notice, the dream dates have apparently made things clear for Maxime: “A decision has already been made in my head.” But she doesn’t want to say it out yet – before she has spoken to all the boys again individually. What exactly she draws from these relatively superficial conversations, the viewer does not notice again, but it seems to have strengthened her decision.

The decision for the final

After Max receives the first rose, things get exciting between Raphael and Zico. Both were sure and had a good feeling. Only Raphaels confirms himself – Zico has to go. He turns out to be a good loser, sincerely wishes Maxime all the best for goodbye in private and thanks him for everything. “She will have her explanation for it,” commented Zico on his departure. “Maybe there are not yet the blatant feelings and somehow that makes me sad.”

The dream dates were under the motto water, air and earth – only the fire, that still doesn’t seem to have been lit this season.
