The bank card is not yet unanimous in small businesses

Despite its growing use, bank cards are still not accepted by one out of three VSEs and SMEs in France. In question in particular, the costs of equipment in payment terminals.

However, more than half of the SMEs surveyed noted an increase in their sales when customers use cards (57%), reports the US Acceptance Network. Nearly half of the merchants surveyed (49%) said they had experienced growth in their turnover of between 6% and 15% after the introduction of card acceptance, details Sophie Noel, Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring at Visa France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

What is holding these small businesses back? First of all, payment terminal access costs, cited by 57% of the probes. A quarter of them would be encouraged to take the plunge if they did not need additional equipment.
