the banks where you will pay the least

Banque Populaire and Crédit Maritime for young people, Crédit Agricole Normandie-Seine and Banque Postale for the “classic” profile, Crédit Agricole Normandie for the “premium” customer. Here is the 2024 ranking of the cheapest banks in Normandy.

Like every year in November, MoneyVox unveils its Bank Trophies, rewarding the establishments which charge the best rates (1). The results are broken down by region, which makes it possible to identify, for the 3 typical customer profiles established by the editorial team (read the methodology), the cheapest banks in a particular territory.

Among young people, two establishments belonging to the same group (BPCE) arrive tied in Normandy and win a Trophy: Banque Populaire Grand Ouest and Crédit Maritime Grand Ouest. In these brands, bank charges amount to 20 euros per year for the defined profile. The bill is notably reduced by the existence of the “Cristal Essentiel” package, which costs only 1 euro per month for 12-24 year olds and which includes many services. 20 euros is much less than the average for the region, which amounts to 33.75 euros taking into account the 14 establishments present in Normandy (this is also the highest average in the regions metropolitan areas). And it is also 20% less than the two banks which come just behind: Crédits Agricoles Normandie and Normandie-Seine, where the Globe Trotter offer costs 24 euros per year for young people.

By paying for each service à la carte, the customer will pay an annual bill of 154.50 euros (note: with the Essential package, they would have paid 174.50 euros in our study). The postal bank comes just behind with a cost of 157.60 euros for the year and therefore also receives a Trophy in this region. On average, in Normandy, customers corresponding to this standard profile pay 179.35 euros (which is still much more than the bill for online banks, where the classic customer can pay barely 3 euros per year).
