James Flynn, co-producer of the hit film “The Banshees Of Inisherin”, is dead. The filmmaker was 57 years old.

Irish filmmaker James Flynn (1966-2023) died on Saturday (February 11) at the age of 57. This is confirmed by the “Irish Times”. Flynn “fighted his illness with courage, dignity and confidence to the end,” the newspaper writes. She did not give more details about the cause of death. Flynn is survived by his wife Juanita Wilson and children Alex and Anna.

“We are all deeply saddened by the passing of our esteemed founder, colleague and great friend James Flynn, who passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, attended by his wife Juanita Wilson and their children Alex and Anna,” Metropolitan Films said in a statement . James Flynn’s contribution to the Irish film and television industry “cannot be adequately described in words”.

“James was a wonderful person, a brilliant producer,” adds producer Ed Guiney, who worked with Flynn on 1998’s Sweety Barrett. He adds: “He had an encyclopedic knowledge of film and was the brightest of all producers of my generation.”
