The fault of the screenwriters’ strike?

An important and worrying report which can have several explanations. The first is the screenwriters’ strike in Hollywood, which lasted from May to September 2023, and which would have put a halt to the pre-production of the film. According to certain internal sources, the film does not yet have a final script, actor Jeffrey Wright still not having seen the color.

Other rumors indicate that the ambitious ten-year plan announced by producer James Gunn for the future of the DC universe would have put a damper on the project… even leading to talk of its outright cancellation .

Finally, the upheavals in the upper echelons of Warner – between changes in management, rumors of a merger, shelving of projects – naturally fuel these concerns. But on the side of Digitalwe advise you to exercise caution… and serenity.

The Batman was a critical and public acclaim upon its release in 2022, raking in $772 million at the worldwide box office. It garnered three Oscar nominations and successfully offered a new iteration of the Dark Knight. Warner therefore has no interest in nipping such an acclaimed reboot in the bud.

In addition, it is common for projects of this scale to experience postponements. If The Batman: Part 2 was to begin filming this summer to be released in the fall of 2025, this delay could allow Matt Reeves to refine his copy. Note, Robert Pattinson will then be 40 years old, and will be older than Christian Bale at the time of the release of The Dark Knight.
