The Batman 2: which villains will Robert Pattinson face in the sequel?

After the success of The Batman, a sequel officially launched last April. But who will the Dark Knight face in this new opus? Here is a selection of potential villains that we would love to see!

Released in theaters on March 2, 2022, The Batman with Robert Pattinson made an impression with its dark, borderline gloomy tone and its tormented and violent hero.

Paul Dano’s performance as Riddler, the film’s main villain, was also a hit with Batman fans.

Therefore, in the second installment, announced on April 27, the new bad guys will have to live up to it!

If Matt Reeves showed us a new face of the Joker at the end of the film, camped by Barry Keoghan, it seems quite unlikely that the Clown Prince of Crime is still the antagonist of a Batman feature film.

Who is going to be able to give our Gotham vigilante a hard time? Here is a selection of some villains from the comics that we would love to see on the big screen! (Enemies that have already appeared in the cinema are deliberately hidden).

The mad Hatter

DR

The Mad Hatter, aka Jervis Tetch, is a psychopathic criminal obsessed with Alice in Wonderland. Thanks to his work on electromagnetic waves, he has developed a tool allowing him to manipulate people’s minds.

Professor Pyg

DR

Here is a very crazy character who could well traumatize our Dark Knight and the spectators. Lazlo Valentin, alias Professor Pyg, is a scientist collaborating with the organization Spirale on a product with effects similar to the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.

The organization tries to trap him but he escapes with brain damage. Under the pseudonym of Professor Pyg, he sets out in search of the perfection of the human body and becomes a serial killer in the process, butchering his victims to make them perfect.

The Ventriloquist

DR

Arnold Wesker, nicknamed The Ventriloquist, is a very disturbing bad guy manipulating a puppet called Scarface. We can see this criminal evolve in the underworld of Gotham, especially in the organization of the Penguin.

The Court of Owls

DR

The Court Of Owls is a powerful and mysterious secret organization that rules Gotham City from the shadows, like a sort of deep state.

Responsible for the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne, the Court has existed since the creation of Gotham and represents its higher authority. The only people aware of its existence are politicians, mayors or crime lords.

Calendar Man

DR

As his name suggests, Julian Day, aka Calendar Man, is a non-superpowered criminal obsessed with calendars. His crimes and misdeeds are all related to a party, a holiday or a change of season. A bit like the Riddler, it could give Batman a headache.

Hugo Strange

DR

No, Hugo Strange is not the brother of the famous Doctor Marvel. However, this enemy of Batman is also a doctor (psychiatrist to be precise). Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Strange first appeared in Detective Comics #36 in 1940.

This character, as brilliant as it is insane, is one of the first regular enemies of the Dark Knight. He appeared a few months before The Joker and Catwoman. Hugo Strange is also one of the first adversaries who discovered Batman’s true identity.

Victor Zsasz

DR

Victor Zsasz is a maniacal and pychopathic serial killer. He murders his victims with a knife and carves a mark on each of their bodies. Another weirdo Batman could send to Arkham Asylum!
