“The Bat and The Cat”: A third trailer has been released for The Batman, which hits theaters in March 2022.
The trailer, revealed by surprise on December 27, 2021, is explosive. These new images of The batman still lift the veil a little more on this film which promises to be dark and violent. The treatment, which is intended to be very “serious”, is reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, even if the approach nevertheless seems quite different.
But the interest of this trailer, entitled The Bat and the Cat, is to tell us a little about the place of Catwoman, alias Selina Kyle, now played by Zoë Kravitz.
Catwoman has cats (yes)
This is a defining moment of the trailer, because it is important to know it and to clarify it: Selina Kyle has cats, a lot of cats. And she loves stray animals, she hastens to add.
Catwoman and Batman work together, but not amicably
The previous trailers already introduced Catwoman, but it was difficult to discern the exact place of the heroine (… or anti-heroine) in this new film. Several scenes from the third trailer make it very clear that Batman and Catwoman are teaming up.
But do they team up in a friendly way? The two characters do not seem to oppose head-on in any case, as is the case in many story arcs in Gotham. They seem to be doing more of a common cause, driven by a common revenge (and which they define as “justice”). However, the alliance is not very durable either: “ I’m not really sure Bruce replies to Alfred, who asks him if Selina is a friend.
And now a scene breaks with their alliance, since they clash briefly. Perhaps this is simply the moment of their meeting, before the alliance. Or a… point of disagreement. But the scene also ends with a rapprochement close to a flirtation.
She doesn’t know who’s behind the mask
While it’s clear that the movie’s big bad, The Riddler (or Mystery Man), knows Batman’s true identity, it’s also obvious that the film starts off with a Catwoman who doesn’t know who’s behind the mask. She therefore teams up with Batman and not Bruce Wayne.
Catwoman handles the situation
Depending on the story arcs, we meet Selina Kyle / Catwoman at different stages of her vigilante (or villainous) career. As it happens, The batman will introduce us to a Catwoman who handles the situation: she jumps out of a building without flinching and doesn’t seem afraid of much. This Catwoman is therefore experienced and not at the stage of her origin story – the same goes for Batman.

Catwoman and Batman flirt (as usual) (who’s surprised?). But will it turn into a love story?
