With The Batman in cinemas just around the corner, fans can’t wait to see Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ new film (Planet of the Apes: Survival). You can’t expect typical action overkill, but a detective thriller in the best David Fincher manner.
But it is also understandable if the running time of 177 minutes makes quite a few viewers nervous. After countless Corona-related home cinema nights, the idea of sitting in the cinema for three hours straight (longer if there are commercials) and not being able to simply pause the film to go to the toilet is downright scary.
So it would be nice to be able to watch “The Batman” directly in the stream at home. That would also have been possible in 2021, at that time Warner Bros. released every new movie in the USA at the same time on the HBO Max streaming service.
This exemption came to an end at the beginning of 2022, but what remains is a pleasantly small exclusive cinema time window. Because just 46 days after the US theatrical release, “The Batman” will be shown on HBO Max. So that means: From April 19, 2022 you can see “The Batman” on HBO Max in the stream!

It cannot be ruled out that “The Batman” will also be streamed directly in Germany a short time later. Sky is the most likely address, because various Warner titles that landed on HBO Max in 2021 came to Sky later, but at least relatively early.
So right now you have the choice of going to the cinema and experiencing “The Batman” on the big screen or rather waiting and traveling to Gotham on the Tuesday after Easter thanks to HBO Max. In any case, there will be no shortage of cinema highlights in 2022, after all, “Morbius” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” are already in the starting blocks.
