In a new trailer, Robert Pattinson shows himself as the Batman who spreads fear and terror.

A new trailer for “The Batman” showshow dark and brutal the film with Robert Pattinson (35) in the lead role is. Zoë Kravitz (32) is also prominently represented as Catwoman in the clip. “Who are you under there?” She asks at one point. “I am retribution,” Batman replied.

In the trailer for the film by director Matt Reeves (55), Batman is shot repeatedly, apparently without consequences. Even an explosion cannot stop it. The introduction is also frightening: “Fear is a tool,” it says. “When the light appears in the sky, it’s not just a sign. It’s a warning.”

Batman as a brutal avenger?

Will the hero in “The Batman” be more brutal and violent than before? “From the beginning there is desperation behind it. He really works off this anger”, explained Pattinson according to “Entertainment Weekly” during the “DC FanDome” event. “He doesn’t have much control over his personality. The line between Batman and Bruce isn’t that clear.” He has “not exactly defined what Batman is. He gets lost in it.”

The trailer also features Andy Serkis (57) as Alfred, allusions to the evil plan of the Riddler (Paul Dano, 37) and Colin Farrell’s (45) character Oswald Cobblepot, aka the penguin. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2022.
