53 years later, they are reunited. A previously unreleased Beatles track, entitled “Now and Then”, revealed a clip available on Disney+ and directed by Peter Jackson.

After if after Middle Earth and Tolkien’s universe, Peter Jackson became the Beatles’ new official director? After the exciting documentary series Get Back, the New Zealand filmmaker was entrusted with directing the music video for this song Now and Thenthe very last song recorded by the group before their separation.
The song’s demo was recorded on a single cassette but was never completed. A few years after the assassination of John Lennon, the three other Beatles – Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – came together for the project The Beatles Anthology, an album bringing together remastered songs as well as previously unreleased tracks.
The idea of offering Now and Then in this album was abandoned, the technologies of the time not allowing the use of John Lennon’s vocal track. But the arrival of digital media and software developed by Peter Jackson’s teams for the needs of the Get Back documentary changed everything!
This happy coincidence therefore allowed the four Beatles to be reunited again for this new song. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr participated in the musical arrangements and recording of the music video, while John Lennon and George Harrison (d. 2001) appear via archive footage.
