The Bergdoktor: Hans Sigl meets ex- "Bergdoktor" Harald Krassnitzer

The mountain is calling (again): For the winter special edition of "The Mountain Doctor", a former star of the series is honored. Harald Krassnitzer (59), who himself held the title role over 20 years ago, is currently turning alongside current mountain doctor Hans Sigl (50) alias Dr. Martin Gruber. The shooting will take place in Ellmau (Kufstein, Austria) and the surrounding area and will continue until the end of February. In addition to Krassnitzer, Liliane Zillner (26) and Carina Wiese (51) are also featured as main actors for the episode with the working title "Mooserhof".

But who now looks forward to a comeback from Krassnitzer's former series role Dr. Justus Hallstein is happy, is disappointed. In the special episode, he plays a man named Rupert Althammer, whose mountain guide (Zillner) falls into a crevice. In search of help, he happens to meet Doctor Gruber and his brother Hans (Heiko Ruprecht, 48), who immediately embark on a dangerous rescue mission.

Regular episodes follow

Immediately after the special episode, filming for eight regular episodes will begin in spring 2020. These should then be broadcast together with the winter special in early 2021.

After the first four "Bergdoktor" seasons, Krassnitzer took over the title role from actor Gerhart Lippert (82, Dr. Thomas Burgner). His character Justus Hallstein had already been introduced as a holiday substitute. At that time, the series was still broadcast by the private broadcaster Sat.1, but is now at home on ZDF.
