The grand finale of season 9 of The best bakery in France is about to deliver its verdict. While the M6 ​​program is in full swing, almost two million viewers meet every day to discover some of the best talents in France. For the occasion, the Télé-Loisirs media decided to contact the very first winner in the show’s history, Christophe Rougetin order to hear from him.

While the latter still remembers the incredible enthusiasm following his prize, the baker from Beaumont-sur-Oise said: “It was quite violent. At the beginning, there was a 1h30 wait. We were almost yelled at by customers when there was no more Bosphorus, bread with olive oil and hazelnuts that we had presented during the first round. I explained that we remained artisanal and that we could not produce more. I drain more than 40 kilometers around, even now!

Christophe Rouget: “I almost ended up in a wheelchair”

If all is well on a personal level for him, unfortunately, health has not followed. “I have taken a lot for a few months. I had a big glitch last summer. I was paralyzed in two legs and one arm. If I didn’t have surgery, in less than a month, I was in a wheelchair. A very good teacher operated on my back. He warned me that there was still a one in two risk of being in a wheelchair despite the operation. But there, it’s okay, I’m standing. I have nine screws with two bars at the cervical level”.This is reassuring news for this superb baker, whose children plan to open a third business by the year 2023.
