The best enemy of the Citroën Ami reveals itself more and more and promises record autonomy

Ligier announces the launch of its future Myli, a 100% electric license-free car that should hunt on the lands of the Citroën Ami. Scheduled for next year, it is already announcing its prices… a thousand miles from its rival.

Gone are the days when cars without a license were tacky and had a rather poor image. Today, these little cars can be driven from 14 or 16 years old are very popular with young people. This is of course the case of the Citroën Ami, but the small tricolor quadricycle is not the only one in this increasingly competitive segment. Indeed, many models now come to overshadow it, with many advantages as well.

A French rival

We think in particular of the adorable Microlino Lite, present at the Mondial de Paris last October, but also of the Mobilize Duo, among others. Other competitors should not be long in making their arrival on the market, including one also from here. Indeed, it is this time the tricolor firm Ligier which is preparing to launch a competitor to the Ami.

Specialized in cars without a license, the company founded in 1969 by Guy Ligier and also known for its track record in competition already markets many models, only thermal. But now the firm plans to launch its first 100% electric cart, called Myli.

For now, Ligier has not yet shown the design of this future creation, which will be launched next year. Nevertheless, the brand announces on its site that its Myli will be able to take advantage of various customization packs available from launch. The first teasers show a style that seems rather muscular and a little more worked than that of the Ami.

If the driving position also remains mysterious, the manufacturer announces that its cart can be equipped with many standard or optional equipment. Among them, a 10 inch touch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, air conditioning or even the heated driver’s seat, among others. However, we will have to wait before we know a little more about it.

Several versions

A total of three batteries will be available on the small car without a license, namely 4.14 kWh, 8.28 kWh and 12.42 kWh, while autonomy has not been announced by the brand. It is content to assert that it is one of the best on the market in this segment. The Ligier Myli is delivered with a cable allowing it to be plugged into a household socket. Thereby, the recharge will be done in 2h30 minimum.

On the other hand, not a word on the power of the cart, which should remain below the 6 kW mark, or 8 horsepower, in accordance with the regulations on category L6e light quadricycles, like the Citroën Ami. The maximum speed will also have to remain limited to 45 km/h and it could be driven from the age of 14. However, it could be that the Myli is part of the L7e category just above.

Thus, it could be driven from the age of 16 and could reach 80 km/h. It would then also compete with the Xev Yoyo and the Renault Twizy 80, but also with the hypothetical unbridled version of the Friend. Thus, it would require a B or B1 permit. However, the brand should not take too long to give additional details on its creation, the price of which has already been announced.

Price and availability

IIt will then be necessary to count 12,499 euros to buy a copy of this new Ligier Myli, which will be officially launched next spring. A total of four finishes will be available, with a maximum price of 18,799 euros for the highest. Note that, like the Friend, this newcomer will be eligible for the ecological bonus capped at 900 euros or 27% of the purchase cost.

For comparison, the Citroën Ami is sold from 7,790 euros. But Ligier announces that the autonomy of its Myli will be the ” new benchmark in the market for cars without an electric license“. The manufacturer also specifies that the car will be produced in France (car, engine and batteries). The Citroën Ami is produced in Morocco.

The Citroën Ami could double its top speed, but under conditions

Citroën is thought to unleash its little Ami, in order to offer a more efficient version, with a top speed of 80 km / h, more power and more autonomy. But that would mean…
