Just one month after the last update, Waze is making the next version available for download for the iOs platform. Anyone hoping for new features will be disappointed. But at least a previous system bug should have been fixed.
With its growing popularity, the Waze navigation app is becoming an integral part of everyday driving for many car owners – and for good reason: Thanks to crowdsourcing, the app almost always finds the fastest route to the selected destination. Obstacles such as accidents and traffic jams are usually avoided effectively.
Now the Google Maps competitor is releasing a new update that is available for download for the iOs platform. The new Waze version is aimed both at users who use the app via their smartphone and at drivers who use Waze as part of CarPlay.
No new features, but the crash problem should be solved
Version 4.83 is just a small advancement. This is not surprising, since Waze only released the previous version 4.82 last month. The focus of the new version is entirely on eliminating existing bugs. If you are hoping for new features, you will have to be patient.
But at least one of the well-known system bugs should disappear with the new version, according to Waze. The update is intended to eliminate a problem that often occurred in the past, in which the app crashed as soon as the user tried to open a notification.
Timely update is recommended
The mini-update may also include other system optimizations that are not mentioned in the app manufacturer’s rather taciturn information letter for the iOS release. In any case, it is recommended to download the new version as soon as possible. This is especially true for users who have had problems in the past with the system error described above, which Waze has now said it has been able to fix.
