Good news for Outlook users, since the “Play my Emails” function is now available in French.

This reading of emails aloud was currently only available in English and Portuguese.

Microsoft expands the “Play my Emails” function

Four years ago, Microsoft launched its “Play my Emails” feature for Outlook. First available on iOS, it was quickly ported to Android, and allows the user to listen to his emails. According to the American giant, this allows the user to free up (precious) time, the latter then being able to perform other tasks while reading their messages.

Available until now in English and Portuguese only, the feature is now available in two new languages… including French! ” French and Spanish speaking users can now also take advantage of this feature to free up valuable time “Explains Microsoft on its official blog.

Reading emails aloud, how does it work?

To be able to use the “Read emails aloud” function, you must use Outlook for iOS or for Android, configured with a Microsoft 365 work account, an Outlook.com account, or a Gmail account.

To start reading, simply press the “Read” button in the banner that appears at the bottom of the Outlook screen. By voice, it is also possible to reply to messages, or to add an item to your agenda, all without having to touch your smartphone. So practical.

A few days ago, we also learned that this same Outlook would very soon benefit from a full-fledged security system, with the integration of Microsoft Authenticator. A feature that allows users to perform multi-factor authentication (MFA) for their work or school account, using the Outlook app, through their iOS or Android device.
