The Best Pastry Chef – The Professionals: Why the Show Changed Location

This Thursday, June 23, M6 kicks off the fifth season of the Best pastry chef, the professionals. But the shooting location is not the same as usual. Explanations.

On your marks, get set, bake! The best pastry chef, the professionals resumes service for its fifth edition this Thursday, June 23 on M6. A little surprise awaits program enthusiasts and its amateur version. Only the most attentive and accustomed should note this change. This is the filming location. Unlike in recent years, the candidates for the cake competition of all kinds did not enter this competition from the Château de Groussay, located in Montfort-l’Amaury. This time, Marie Portolano gave them an appointment not far from there, at the Château de Neuville which is located in the commune of Gambais – it is also in this same place that the eleventh season of the Best pastry chef.

But why such a change? Simply because a bit of renewal”do well“, replies Jérémie Atlan, director of entertainment at BBC Studios, which produces The best pastry chef and its derivatives. But also because the Château de Montfort-l’Amaury is under construction. The site of the place also specifies “not having a reopening date” for the moment. The seven pairs of professional pastry chefs are not, however, landing in unknown territory. Those who follow the program since its first season will not be out of place. Since the Château de Neuville hosted the very first edition of the Best pastry chef.

What’s new for the Best Pastry Chef, the professionals?

This is not the only novelty of this edition of the professionals. More than ever, M6 wanted to inject stakes into this competition. Thus, the seven competing pairs will compete in two tests that should push them to their limits. And for the first time, renowned chefs will challenge the candidates in their chosen field. “Trompe l’oeil, cake combining dessert and cheese, incredible artistic piece, cake in 8 textures or culinary experience, each event will require our candidates to have new pastry resources and ever more talent.“, promises us the chain. Sébastien Vauxion, Julien Alvarez or even Johanna Le Pape will be there. Above all, the two pairs who will have least seduced the jury and the guest chefs will face off in a final head-to-head to save their place in the competition. What about the jury? It is Pierre Hermé who will have the heavy task of deciding between the two pairs in danger, while the rest of the time, the professional pastry chefs will face Cyril Lignac as well as the pastry chef of the Elysée, Christelle Brua.
