The best pictures – sweat, fun and a big party at the Innsbruckathlon

The Innsbruckathlon demanded everything from top athletes and hobby athletes on Saturday and attracted numerous spectators to the state capital. The result is impressive: a record number of participants!

Those responsible for the Innsbruckathlon are enthusiastic: With over 2200 runners, a record number of participants was set! Organizer Andreas Mauerhofer has long been enthusiastic about what is probably the toughest sightseeing tour through Tyrol’s state capital: “Innsbruck is different – for me personally the most beautiful route!”. This love for the Innsbruckathlon is now visibly contagious: “We notice that we have now reached a point where we are recognized and accepted. Our goal is to inspire.” The fastest runners made it in under an hour. And the plan must have worked: In addition to the athletes, umpteen spectators came to the city to cheer on the athletes from the edge, cheer them on and get one or two highs Dusting Five. An Austrian and a German were able to win the elite group this year: Markus Bretterklieber conquered the more than ten-kilometer route and all obstacles without help in an unbelievable time of 44:36 minutes, the fastest woman was Ella Köbberling, just under ten minutes later to the destination. Most of the participants in the Innsbruckathlon were more concerned with having fun – and they didn’t miss out! With the numerous obstacles, it was important to help each other, to be creative and not to take it too seriously if you ended up in the water. For many, things continued directly after the award ceremony – after all, the after-show party was waiting!
