Completely crazy in Jumanji alongside Dwayne Johnson, absolutely out of control in Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder, secret and mysterious in Peter Jackson’s King Kong or touching in The Holiday opposite Kate Winslet, Jack Black is an actor who , during his career, has inspired us with a whole range of diverse emotions.
Rather specializing in comedy and humor, he has also explored other universes and proven time and time again that he has no trouble varying the pleasures. But what are the feature films that make Jack Black dream when he leaves the canvas to settle into the red armchair?

In 2011, when he came to our microphone to present his new feature film Gulliver’s Travels, the American actor agreed to describe his favorite cinema sequence to us.

“It’s Jack Lemmon in a very strong, very moving scene, towards the end of Glengarry”he told us, evoking a drama rather unknown to the general public and directed by James Foley in 1993. Featuring a ruthless competition between several merciless sellers within the same real estate agency, Glengarry therefore ended with a shattering revelation on the duplicity of the character played by Jack Lemmon, and on a stroke of brilliance of the latter.
“It’s an actors’ film!”
“It’s an actors’ film! It’s full of actors who have really worked themselves up, starting with Jack Lemmon. He’s just huge. At the end, he gets caught for having taken part in a scam. Throughout the film, we wonder who stole the cards. It was he who stole them. (…) It’s really a great scene…”
In addition to Jack Lemmon, James Foley’s feature film brought together a four-star cast, notably composed of Al Pacino, Alec Baldwin, Alan Arkin, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris and Jonathan Pryce.
