The best-selling primer in the US in the test

Primer or no primer – that is the question. Everyone sees differently whether a primer under the make-up is really necessary. For my part, I use them almost every day. Even if I'm not made up. Because: Primers manage to perfect the skin and make it shine. And I love that! Now I came across a new product – the best-selling primer in America. He has to be able to do something!

The LineBlurfector Instant Wrinkle Blurring Primer from StriVectin was incredibly hyped last year – especially in the United States. It was sold out all the time. Last year, the primer was sold every 15 seconds worldwide; in America, 295 primers were sold over the counter per hour. For good reason? The primer should not only be a normal blurring primer (in German: soft focus), but also contain some benefits for our skin.

What makes it so special?

It contains tiny microspheres that blur fine lines and wrinkles by scattering light – like an Instagram filter! It also contains Vitamin E and Evodia fruit extract, which help improve the skin. The patented NIA-114 technology – a mixture of niacin and vitamin B3 – is said to strengthen the skin barrier. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?

I have to admit, I'm actually not a fan of silicone-like primers that are supposed to cover up the pores and soften wrinkles. Due to the creamy texture, I always have the feeling that the make-up would slide around on it. So I was very surprised that the StriVectin primer doesn't feel like other blurring primers. Much lighter and less "pasty". He doesn't smell of anything – thank goodness! I do not like that on my face and it is not necessary at all. According to the manufacturer, a pea-sized amount should already be enough for the T zone.

The result: Flawless!

I apply the product next to the nose, on the bridge of the nose, on the forehead and the nasobial folds. I don't really have any problems with deep wrinkles or large pores, but they are there. Especially in the nasiobial folds, make-up likes to settle during the day. After the application, you can immediately see a difference: the skin is visibly soft and the foundation is super easy to apply. The result: Flawless!

Even if the primer does not manage to prevent the foundation from slipping into small folds. The overall result is impressive. A big plus: it does not irritate the skin. It often reacts to primers with pimples and impurities. And nobody really wants that. In case you are wondering: You can now easily get the primer in Germany, for example at SMP for around 31 euros. It won't be available from Douglas until next month. As expected, the primer is so popular in Germany that it will probably sell out very quickly …
