The best smartphones up to 200 euros: Strong entry-level camera quality

Can a smartphone be good for 200 euros? Definitely – however, the selection here is much more difficult than with high-end smartphones. If you buy a smartphone for 1,000 euros or more, the risk of having thrown away money for a total failure is very low. With 200 euro smartphones, on the other hand, there can be various differences in terms of performance, display quality and runtime. Although you rarely come across a smartphone here that is really not recommended at all.

The biggest difference – and challenge for the manufacturer – is therefore found in the camera: many smartphones in this class have neither a particularly good module nor a great AI that automatically optimizes the photos, as our test shows. Although most cameras can still take clear photos in bright sunshine, as soon as the light situation deteriorates, many shots are noisy and lack detail. However, there are positive exceptions here too.

In the following list you can see the 10 best Smartphones up to 200 euros therefore not by overall rating, but sorted by camera quality.
