Star of breakfast, jam remains an essential when you are a breakfast lover! Strawberries, apricots, peaches, figs, there is something for everyone. Whether you want to consume it low in sugar or even organic, it is possible since the brands compete in ingenuity to make you succumb. You should know that nearly 4 kilos of jam are consumed each year in France, so it may be difficult for the average consumer to find their way among all the references on the market.
It is in this perspective that the association 60 million consumers decided to conduct a survey in order to deliver its list of the best strawberry and apricot jams in France. More than 40 references were chosen to participate in this study: 20 strawberry and 20 apricot. We decided to focus on the best-selling flavor in France, the strawberry. Several criteria were taken into consideration to define this classification: the presence of pesticides, the sugar level, the composition, the additives… It is in the columns of its April issue that the association explains that they have prioritized fruit-rich references to establish their list of winners.

Results that show the varied approaches of manufacturers
Regarding the presence of pesticides, the survey reveals that 22 of the 40 jams passed under the radar of the association contain pesticides including both insecticides and fungicides. But there is good news, however, not all jams with the “organic” label are affected. So what are the three best references on the market?
Hats off to the strawberry jam from the U brand, which is one of the references with the most fruit with a rate of 65%. On the other hand, the association would like to specify: For this price, don’t expect French or organic fruit. But no trace of pesticides was detected there. “.
