The best webcams: Favorites from the test lab

This is how CHIP tests webcams

Image quality (45%):

We examine the images in the test laboratory for color depth, level of detail and exposure. The resolution and the refresh rate are also included in the partial rating. In our test center, our experts also assess the webcams in a practical test in different lighting situations.

Clay (25%):

In addition to the subjective assessment of the general quality, our testers also look at noise or possible interference and check how well the models suppress ambient noise. We also test how effectively the models filter out ambient noise.

Equipment (30%):

The focus here is on the flexibility of the stand or clamp: Can the webcam be tilted forward? How many degrees can it be rotated? We also measure the angle of view, and autofocus and the type of microphone installed also play a role. The main interface and the length of the connection cable also have an influence.
