Games from the Pokémon brand have been delighting gamers worldwide for decades. Collecting the cute pocket monsters is a lot of fun, but there is now a new game called Palworld that is immediately reminiscent of Pokémon and also interests fans.
It is currently the most frequently played title on PC (end of January 2024). There’s no question: there’s real hype surrounding the game. The title normally costs just under 30 euros, but you can also play it for free if you have a subscription to Game Pass.
Palworld can be played for free on PC and Xbox for subscribers and you can get a subscription for just ten euros per month. There is also a 14-day trial period for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This only costs 1 euro, then regularly 15 euros per month.
“The Better Pokémon”
Palworld is also the “better Pokémon” for our editor Pascal. The creatures in the survival crafting title look very similar to Pokémon, but Palworld simply offers more interaction options in the open game world and also in co-op.
In addition, there are more options with the so-called “Pals”. You can ride them, fight with them, but they can also work for the players and yes, they can even be slaughtered and eaten.
Pascal also finds crafting better in Palworld, as it is too simple in the original Pokémon games.

Such gaming hype can die down quickly and The Pokémon Company is already considering taking legal action against Palworld. Developer Pocketpair has obviously been “inspired” a lot by Pokémon.
