Sat.1 has just dropped “Celebrities under palm trees”. The broadcaster is working on a new format with the title “The great celebrity penance”.

Sat.1 recently announced that there will be no further episodes of “Celebrities under Palms” in the future. However, the station is already working on a different format around prominent personalities, as station spokesman Christoph Körfer confirmed when asked by the news agency spot on news.

“Sat.1 is currently having a humorous show with the working title ‘Das große Promi-Büßen’ produced,” explains Körfer. Fans of such formats have to be patient: “A broadcast this year is not planned.” The broadcaster does not want to disclose any further details yet.

Who is taking part?

The broadcaster is also silent about possible candidates. Meanwhile, the “Bild” reportsthat allegedly reality TV participant Elena Miras (29), her colleagues Calvin Kleinen (29), Matthias Mangiapane (37), Helena Fürst (47) and Carina Spack (24), singer Daniele Negroni (25), ex- Tennis professional Daniel Köllerer (37), the former “Germany’s next top model” participant Gisele Oppermann (33), singer Ennesto Monté (46) and Tim Sandt, who can already be seen as a friend of Annemarie Eilfeld (31) in the “summer house of the stars” was supposed to be there.

After the death of Willi Herren (1975-2021) in April 2021, Sat.1 had actually already taken wacky episodes of “Celebrities under Palms” from its program. The broadcaster said on Twitterthat the episodes should not be shown for reasons of piety. At the beginning of the season, participant Prince Marcus von Anhalt (54) had previously caused a sensation with homophobic statements. “There won’t be another season of Celebs Under the Palms”, Sat.1 recently explained on Instagram. One is convinced that “good reality TV” is “excellent television entertainment”: “But ‘celebrities under palm trees’ no longer suit us.” They are currently working on “many new ideas and programs”.
