TVNow announces the start of its new streaming highlight: "The big fake – The Wirecard story" will be available via the streaming service from March 31st. In a mixture of documentary and fictional thriller, the film tells the story behind the Wirecard financial scandal. Christoph Maria Herbst (55, "Stromberg") can be seen in the lead role of the imprisoned Wirecard boss Markus Braun (52). Franz Hartwig (35, "Der Pass") plays Jan Marsalek (40), a former board member of Wirecard AG, who is still in hiding.

According to the press release, the documentary thriller wants to take a look "into the deepest innermost and deepest depths" of Wirecard AG. Among other things, supervisory boards, executives and former business partners as well as those "who currently have to sweep up the remains of Wirecard AG in Munich" have their say. These include James Freis (50), who replaced Markus Braun as CEO at Wirecard at short notice and overnight, founder Michael Olaf Schütt, and private investors like Eberhard Schuler, who lost half a million euros. The aim is to get close to the dynamism and psyche of the two entrepreneurs.
