Sat.1 relies on quiz shows on Thursday evenings and is bringing a tried and tested format back to television: From April 11th there will be a new edition of the show “The Great General Knowledge Quiz” on Thursdays at 8:15 p.m. The broadcaster confirmed the official start of the quiz show on Wednesday (February 28). The show is moderated by quiz master Jörg Pilawa (58), who recently celebrated success with the second season of “The 1% Quiz”.

In 2011, Sat.1 presented the format “The Great General Knowledge Quiz”, moderated at the time by Johannes B. Kerner (59). The basic concept behind the show, which does not change in the new edition: In order to be there as a candidate, you have to be approached in the pedestrian zones by street reporter Fabian Köster (28, known from the “heute-show”).

Anyone who answers their questions correctly qualifies as a participant in “The Big General Knowledge Quiz”. Finally, the candidates challenge each other in the studio. In seven quiz rounds you can win up to 50,000 euros with a good general education.

“Our viewers can rely on this: there will be quizzes on Sat.1 on Thursday evening,” said Sat.1 boss Marc Rasmus. “With ‘The Big General Knowledge Quiz’ our program offering this evening is growing and Jörg Pilawa is the perfect host for it.”

A total of five episodes of “The Great General Knowledge Quiz” will be broadcast every Thursday from April 11th at 8:15 p.m. on Sat.1 and as a stream Joyn shown. Until then, fans don’t have to miss out on the quiz fun on Thursday evening: The new show “The Floor” with Matthias Opdenhövel (53) starts on February 29th, which succeeds “The 1% Quiz”.
