Finally ! After weeks of rumors, Big N has just announced a new imminent Nintendo Direct which promises more great announcements. What games to expect?
The Summer Game Fest has been lively in recent days. The event was once again the scene of great announcements from both PlayStation and Microsoft. Only Nintendo was missing, the Japanese publisher preferring to stay away from the summer festivities. Rumors of a Nintendo Direct were becoming more and more pressing. It’s obvious now, Big N has made a habit of holding such an event in June, to take stock of the future (and undoubtedly last) releases of its console. Nintendo Switch players will not have to wait very long to discover the next games in the catalog, the new Nintendo Direct has been made official.
Finally a date for the Nintendo Direct
After the rumors, it’s time to make it official. The Japanese publisher has confirmed that its summer Nintendo Direct will take place this Tuesday June 18 at 4 p.m., French time. An event that will give pride of place to upcoming Nintendo Switch games during the second half of the year. We should logically have new exclusives announced, whether those made by Big N or its partners, such as new ports. The manufacturer nevertheless announces the color: there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch 2, or whatever the name of the successor of the hybrid. At least that’s what it says. With more than 40 minutes on the clock, this next Nintendo Direct still promises to be generous in announcements. So, what to expect?
We see you screaming HOLLOW KNIGHT SKILKSONG and we too want to believe it, but there are much more realistic candidates. Rumor has it that Nintendo is keeping two new ports warm: Zelda Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. The well-informed Pyoro also implied that a new Ace Attorney would be announced for the occasion. A certain Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake should give news soon, this new Nintendo Direct seems ideal. Maybe a certain FF9 Remake will finally become official? Rumors from the corridors also suggest that the famous Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition could be revealed very soon. We could also have news of Pokémon TCG Pocket, confirmed for sometime in 2024 according to the latest news, or even of the newly announced LEGO Horizon Adventures. This Nintendo Direct should also give an important place to smaller productions and in particular to independent games.
