Property tax notices are being received by property owners and for some, a nasty surprise awaits them. This local tax has increased sharply in several towns.

On average, an owner paid, in 2021, 849 euros in property tax for all of his properties, according to the General Directorate of Public Finance (DGFiP). This is indeed an average because the owners of a single property, ie 6 out of 10 people, paid around 525 euros. For those who own at least three properties, the tax amounted to an average of 1642 euros.
