In The Book of Boba Fett, Mando had a gift made for Grogu. What armor is it and could it play a pivotal role in The Mandalorian Season 3?

- The Mandalorian star had the armorer turn his Beskar spear into armor for Grogu.
- This gift could already set a shock moment for season 3 of “The Mandalorian”.
‘The Book of Boba Fett’ revealed what happened to Din Djarin after the season 2 finale of ‘The Mandalorian’ in Episode 5 of the Disney+ series. After handing Grogu over to Luke Skywalker, he went in search of the Armorer and Paz Vizsla.
There, the armorer criticized her for his beskar spear, which he received from Ahsoka Tano and which served him well in the fight against Moff Gideon. Beskar is not meant for weapons, but for armor, whereupon Mando has armor made for Grogu.
The idea of Grogu in Mandalorian Armor, while cute, is unrealistic given what the Armorer made for Grogu. So far, only numerous small rings have been shown, which in the end easily fit into a piece of cloth, but it is actually clear what it is: chain mail.
Such a small mail shirt won’t weigh much and is easy to transport, plus Grogu can wear it under his clothes. It’s also likely that viewers will soon forget that Grogu has this protection, allowing The Mandalorian Season 3 to utilize the bulletproof vest trick so popular on TV and movies.
So Grogu could be in danger again and maybe even get hit by a blaster shot. A brief shock, until it becomes clear that his chain mail held off the otherwise deadly attack. It wouldn’t be surprising if Jon Favreau, who wrote the recent The Book of Boba Fett episode, paves the way for The Mandalorian Season 3 here.
Now the question remains whether Grogu will appear in “The Book of Boba Fett”. Mando’s plan to visit his little friend speaks for itself, but the series could also focus on Boba again and only have Mando appear again in the finale, which would mean that his visit to Grogu would never be shown. But at the latest in the 3rd season of “The Mandalorian” we will certainly see a lot of Grogu again.
