EXCLUSIVE – Albert Bourla announces a major investment in France. It analyzes for Le Figaro the Covid crisis and the ongoing revolution in the pharmaceutical industry.
With its vaccine and its treatment against Covid-19, Pfizer has established itself as the most advanced pharmaceutical giant in the fight against the pandemic. The group will invest more than 520 million euros in France over five years. On the one hand, it is strengthening its production capacities, via an agreement with Novasep, which will produce the active ingredient of Paxlovid, its anti-Covid drug at its site in Mourenx (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). On the other hand, Pfizer will invest in French biotechs and significantly increase its clinical trials with French patients. Albert Bourla has been CEO of Pfizer since January 2019.
