While the disappearance of Lina, 15, is still causing great concern in the East, that of little Émile, aged 2, is still the subject of an intense investigation after more than six months. A macabre discovery would have even relaunched leads. But what happened to Eden? He was found in Lot-et-Garonne with his father, a depressed man who is a fan of survivalist and conspiracy theories. The latter had come barefoot to pick up his son from his ex-spouse, as agreed by the custody agreements. What had alerted were the child’s backpack and cell phone found in a ditch yesterday afternoon. Since then, 30 then 80 gendarmes had been looking for him, and a helicopter had even been deployed.

A call for witnesses had been launched. The prosecutor indicated in a press release sent to South West : “Around 4 p.m., father and son were found alive by PSIG units from Tonneins”. The mayor of Soustons congratulated him investigators “who in less than 24 hours found Eden”. He adds “I spoke to the school principal, who was also very relieved”. A psychological unit had been set up for Eden’s comrades.

Why had they disappeared? What did they do ? Will there be legal action for Eden’s father? Questions remain. The latter was arrested and taken into custody. Aged 45, he lives in a caravan in the town of Magescq, where he left his cell phone. The prosecutor specifies that he was never violent with his son. The Spanish police had been notified in case he tried to cross the border with his child.
