The Boys: a star of the Amazon series victim of a racist attack

The interpreter of Kimiko in The Boys told on Instagram to have been the victim of a hate crime while buying a coffee.

Karen Fukuhara, who will be back as Kimiko in season 3 of The Boys, expected on June 3 on Prime Video, testified on Instagram after being the victim of a racist crime. In the caption of her text recounting her assault, she soberly shared the hashtag “Stop Hate Against Asians”.

The actress, also seen in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, was hit in the head by a man she did not know as she walked to a cafe. “This shit has to stop. We women, Asians and the elderly need your help“, she assures in her message, posted the day that an 87-year-old Broadway coach, Barbara Maier Gustern, died after being pushed in the street by a stranger.

Regarding her attack, which left her with no physical consequences, she explains: “It happened out of nowhere. Our eyes hadn’t met, I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary. (…) I thought of confronting [l’agresseur] but it started coming back to me and i thought it wasn’t worth the risk.

Anti-Asian crimes have increased around the world in recent years as a result of the COVID pandemic. And Karen Fukuhara would like the perpetrators of these terrible attacks to be “held responsible”.

What can we do as a community to prevent these horrific crimes?”, concludes the actress who received the support of her partners from The Boys, Chace Crawford (The Deep), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk) and Jack Quaid (Hughie) in the comments.
