The Boys: this character you love will return in season 4

The production of “The Boys” confirms the return of a key character as 3 new actors join the cast of the long-awaited season 4 of the Amazon show.

It’s official: Simon Pegg will be back in the next season of The Boys! While Amazon Prime is currently working on the production of the 4th season of the hit series, news on the casting is piling up.

Indeed, we learned recently that Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead, Supernatural) was going to find Eric Kripke thanks to a major role during this season 4. The previous season had meanwhile been marked by the arrival Jensen Ackles – Morgan’s former acting partner in Supernatural – as Soldier Boy.

As Comicbook reports, Simon Pegg will return as Hugh Campbell Sr., the dad of dear Hughie (Jack Quaid), last seen in the Season 3 premiere. season 1 of the show, the British actor did not appear in season 2.

But that’s not all: Hughie’s mother, never seen on screen, also invites herself into the series! It is the actress Rosemarie Dewitt who will give life to the character as announced in the tweet below (retweeted by the way by Simon Pegg).

Another Supernatural alum, Rob Benedict, and Once Upon a Time alum, Elliot Knight, have also landed undisclosed roles for this upcoming season.

Building on its success, The Boys was officially renewed for a 4th season a few weeks before the broadcast of its season 3 finale. Showrunner Eric Kripke and Karl Urban, the interpreter of Butcher, have also recently shared a photo of the filming to announce the arrival of Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

During the show’s renewal, Amazon raved about their goose series, emphasizing the success of the Emmy-nominated season 2 and the show’s storytelling that pushes both boundaries and criticizing society in a very real way. So many things that gave birth to a franchise for the platform.

Eric Kripke also spoke – with a touch of humor as usual.

On behalf of the cast and crew, we are so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most importantly all the fans for embracing the series and allowing us to do more. We’re excited to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we live in. Moreover, this is the first time in history that the explosion of genitals has led to even more success.

For its part, Sony Pictures Television had expressed its pride in being associated with such a project: “The producers and cast of The Boys have proven, year after year, that there’s no bar they can’t cross. We are incredibly proud of this brilliant and subversive genre series. Our relationship with Prime Video is more than a partnership, it’s more like an extended family. Everyone here at Sony Pictures Television is grateful to join Prime Video and Eric Kripke for another successful season.

While waiting to be able to discover season 4, which promises to be just as daring, the first 3 seasons of The Boys can be (re)watched exclusively on Prime Video.
