Good (but not surprising) news for fans of The Boys. The trashy superhero series has been renewed for season 4.
The battle between the Boys and the Supers is far from over. While Season 3 of The Boys is streaming on Prime Video, the platform has already announced that the trashy superhero series has been renewed for a fourth season. This is TVLine who tells us the good news today, after the release of the fourth episode of season 3 of the series, where the new recruit Jensen Ackles explodes in Soldier Boy.
Showrunner Eric Kripke did not fail to express his joy in a press release: “On behalf of the cast and crew, we are so grateful to Sony, Amazon and most importantly all of the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to continue. We are thrilled to continue the fight of Butcher and the Boys versus the Protector and the Seven, and to be able to continue commentating on the insane world we live in. Plus, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to new successes.”
With this last sentence, the showrunner of The Boys refers to the brilliant and already cult scene of the first episode of season 3 in which the superhero Termite (Brett Geddes), ersatz of Ant-Man addicted to sex and cocaine, caused her boyfriend to explode while sneezing when he was tiny in his urethra.
Either way, The Boys franchise, which pokes fun at Marvel and DC superheroes, is doing well on Amazon Prime Video with the increasingly popular and gory parent series and spin-offs released, The Boys. : Diabolical, and in development, a series on the university of the Supers.
