UAn investigation was opened on Monday after the complaint against the police filed by a Chadian student, at the heart of a controversy over the Brav-M and who was again arrested on Friday before being released on Sunday, learned Agence France -Press from source close to the file. This investigation was entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), according to this source.

Suspected of being involved in a trash fire, this student, Souleyman Adoum Souleyman, was arrested on Friday evening with two other people and then placed in police custody, before being the subject of a classification without action for insufficiently characterized offense and released Sunday evening, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office. The other two people have for their part been referred for an immediate appearance, according to this source. The hearing will be held on May 22.

Souleyman Adoum Souleyman had been the main target of threatening and humiliating remarks made by Brav-M police officers and recorded without their knowledge on the night of March 20 to 21, which gave rise to the opening of two investigations, administrative and judicial. He filed a complaint on Monday against the four police officers who arrested him for “slanderous denunciation”, “false public writing”, “complicity by instigation in the destruction of property by dangerous means” and “violation of the secrecy of the investigation “, according to a press release sent by his lawyer, Mr.e Arie Alim.

He deplores there having “been the subject of false accusations relayed in the press and in numerous statements by police unions this weekend”. “The speed of the opening of the investigation is a sign of a certain concern of the judicial institution about the involvement of the police in the degradations committed”, commented to AFP Me Alim.

In his complaint, of which AFP has knowledge, the student says that he was taking part in the demonstration against the pension reform on Friday evening with two other people when they met four people dressed in civilian clothes who allegedly offered to burn garbage cans. He says he did not commit such an offence, but was nevertheless arrested later by one of these people in civilian clothes.

To support his statements, he requests “the communication of the video from the laptop of one of the police officers as well as the video surveillance of the prefecture allowing the instigation of the police officers to materialize”, according to the press release.
