BRAZILIAN ANTITRUST AUTHORITY APPROVES CARREFOUR’S ACQUISITION OF GRUPO BIG
SAO PAULO (Reuters) – CADE, Brazil’s antitrust authority, on Wednesday approved with conditions the acquisition of food retailer Grupo BIG by Carrefour Brasil, the local subsidiary of French supermarket chain Carrefour.
Carrefour has already accepted the conditions set by the authority, which consist in selling certain stores.
The operation, which values Grupo BIG at around $1.3 billion, was announced in March 2021 but still required the green light from CADE.
