While the Bren was more popular than ever in Warzone during Season 1, its popularity is now not what it used to be, and according to some players, it could be due to a secret nerf.
The Bren has long remained one of the most popular weapons in Warzone Pacific, thanks in part to its impressive range and firepower. If the multiple nerfs it received made it lose some place in the ranking of the most popular weapons, or with the best K/D ratio, the weapon is far from being forgotten.
However, with multiple voices on social media pointing out that the Bren doesn’t seem to be as effective as it used to be, analyst TrueGameData warned players that the Bren may have received a secret nerf in a recent update, which would have decreased its damage.
A secret nerf to the Bren on Warzone?
TrueGameData tweeted that Warzone’s Bren appeared to have received “a secret nerf in the last 2 patches”. He then clarified that the damage multipliers to arms and torso “now do leg damage”.
If his suspicions are true, the weapon’s popularity could drop further in future players. However, TrueGameData clarified that players need not worry about the weapon becoming useless during Warzone Pacific Season 2, as the LMG remains “first class”.

Several netizens have argued that these changes have been in effect since the launch of Warzone Pacific Season 2. This update mentioned nerfs to damage to the Bren’s torso and arms, but didn’t elaborate.
It’s hard to tell if it’s just a lack of detail, or if the nerf was harder than expected, either way these changes cause the Bren to deal less damage than before.
