the bug of the old plates is solved!, News/Actu Quotidien

The fuel allowance, which has replaced the government’s boost at the pump since January 1, but which is now reserved for households not exceeding a certain income ceiling, suffered from a technical bug since its launch, which has just to be resolved, relates The Parisian.

The online application platform for this state aid of €100 per user – which is not paid automatically – launched on January 16, did not allow owners of vehicles equipped with old license plates “ type AA-111-A or 111-AA-11 », prior to 2009, to see their application succeed.

The beneficiaries concerned were unable to register, as the system did not recognize these license plates. A month after the opening of the service, this bug has finally been resolved by the teams of the Directorate General of Public Finances, let our colleagues know.

Applications open until the end of March

The end of this blockage should accelerate the number of requests, whereas a fortnight ago, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, had declared that to date, half of the people eligible for the indemnity fuel, whose number is estimated at between 7 and 8 million, had not yet claimed it.

The government had initially planned a two-month period, between January and the end of February, for household applications to be registered. But faced with the large number of workers who had not yet come forward to benefit from it, Bercy had announced the extension of registration until the end of March.

According to figures from the Ministry of the Economy communicated to the Parisian, already 5.6 million requests have been made”.
