After the Pixel 6a, it is now the turn of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to receive the “Camouflage” feature which allows you to change the tint of an element in a photo in order to bring out others. Here’s how to use it.
After first launching it on its Pixel 6a, Google is now bringing Camouflage, its new photo editing feature, to its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. You will now be able to change the color of an element that is too invasive in your photos in a simple and fairly intuitive way.
Camouflage to better highlight the subject
This feature declined from the Magic Eraser available on Pixels via the Google Photos application gives the possibility of cutting out an embarrassing element of a photo so that it automatically blends with the rest of the image. The goal is to maintain attention on the element you want to highlight.
This operation is generally achievable on software dedicated to photography, we can here applaud all the know-how of Google which now makes this change accessible to everyone.
How do I use the “Camouflage” option?
To access this feature, all you have to do is open an image in the Google Photos app and then go to Edit > Tools > Camouflage.
We press “Edit” // Source: Frandroid
Then we find the “Tools” option where we can select the magic eraser // Source: Frandroid
This is where the new “Camouflage” option is located // Source: Frandroid
There, you still have to outline the object whose colors you want to attenuate.
Once selected, simply clip the object you want to see the colors muted
It then takes on a color similar to that of the background and brings out your subject // Source: Frandroid
And here’s the result ! // Source: Frandroid
When done, this will blend into the background of the image to make your subject stand out in the image and give you a better shot.
