The CGT of the TotalEnergies refinery in Gonfreville ends its strike action

The CGT announced on Wednesday November 2 that it had ended the strike movement started more than a month ago, on September 27, at the TotalEnergies refinery in Gonfreville-l’Orcher (Seine-Maritime), near Le Havre. The strike was lifted on Monday after the conclusion of an agreement between the management and the union, said the general secretary of the CGT of the site, Alexis Antonioli, confirming information from Paris-Normandy. The management of TotalEnergies also confirmed that ” strike [était] completed ».

The general meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. is canceled. The union said it would issue a statement by Wednesday evening or Thursday. While the movement had been renewed on Monday during the change of the 5 a.m. shift, “a negotiation meeting made it possible to reach an agreement”specifies a source close to the file.

The strike continues only on the Feyzin site

Gonfreville-l’Orcher was with the Feyzin depot (Rhône) one of the last two Total sites to have voted to continue the movement on October 27. The strike movement of the employees of the Normandy refinery had started on September 27, at the call of the CGT TotalEnergies. Claiming a 10% increase, the CGT had not signed the national agreement concluding to a salary increase of 7% and the payment of a bonus of 3,000 €.

At the Feyzin fuel depot, the strike continued on Wednesday, according to the CGT. “No requisitions this morning. The strikers are hoping for the imminent arrival of a mediator from the Republic, it is becoming urgent”commented the CGT union representative of Feyzin, Pedro Afonso.

TotalEnergies announced, on October 27, a profit of 6.6 billion dollars in the third quarter of 2022, up 43% compared to that of the third quarter of 2021. The group has already earned in nine months 17.3 billion dollars of profits, more than for the whole of last year (16 billion).
