The Chinese manufacturer BYD (for Build Your Dreams) took advantage of the Paris Motor Show to formalize the arrival of its Seal in Europe.

The BYD Seal soon in Europe
Last year, the Chinese automaker BYD unveiled Ocean X, a concept car in the form of a pretty electric sedan. A little before the summer, the brand started pre-orders of the Seal, the production model inspired by this same concept.
As part of the Paris Motor Show, the brand exhibited various models on its stand, including this amazing Seal, but also the Tang and Atto 3 SUVs (a model for less than 40,000 euros), not to mention the Han sedan. .
The Tesla Model 3 in the crosshairs
The Seal starts at just over $31,000 in China. It takes on the appearance of a four-door sedan with a dynamic look, the rear being marked by an imposing diffuser. An electric car slightly larger than a Tesla Model 3, clearly the model targeted by this Seal.
The BYD Seal is built from the brand’s e-Platform 3.0, a technical base dedicated solely to electric vehicles, with in particular battery optimization to improve vehicle rigidity. Under the hood, there is a 200 hp electric motor, which can be powered by a 61.4 kWh or 82.5 kWh battery (with a charging capacity of up to 150 kW). What promise up to 700 km of autonomy according to BYD.
Note that a Dual Motor version is also included, with one motor placed on each axle, for a total power of 523 hp.
BYD has also raised the possibility of launching another model of the firm in Europe: the Dolphin. No specific date announced, but sales (already in progress in Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands) should soon be open in many new European countries before the end of the year, including France.
