The House of Anissa Bonnefont

With Ana Girardot, Aure Atika, Rossy de Palma…

What is it about ? To write her new book, Emma decides to get hired as a prostitute in a brothel in Berlin.

Did you know ? Anissa Bonnefont met producer Clément Miserez at a dinner party. He had really liked Wonder Boy and offered him to adapt a book to the cinema: La Maison d’Emma Becker. After two hours of reading, the filmmaker called him back, telling him that she had to meet the author. She remembers:

“However, several directors – all men – were already in line to sign the adaptation and, unfortunately for me, one of them had convinced Emma Becker to give him the rights. I was extremely disappointed but I I had the intimate feeling that the story was not going to end there!”

A little remains of Gad Elmaleh

With Gad Elmaleh, Régine Elmaleh, David Elmaleh…

What is it about ? After three years of living the “American dream” Gad Elmaleh decides to return to France. He misses his family and his friends. At least, that’s the official answer to justify his return… because Gad didn’t (only) come back for his mother’s couscous. No, it’s another woman he comes to meet in Paris… the Virgin Mary.

Did you know ? Gad Elmaleh directed his own parents in Remain a little, by evoking a film about the midlife crisis, without going into too much detail in order to capture their surprise and their confusion. If all the dialogues were written in the screenplay, he did not give them a text to learn in order to maintain their spontaneity.

The Engaged by Emilie Frèche

With Benjamin Lavernhe, Julia Piaton, Bruno Todeschini…

What is it about ? On the road to Briançon, David’s car hits a young exile chased by the police. Following his instinct, David hides it in his trunk and brings it back to his companion Gabrielle who lives with her two children. Shaken by the fate of this teenager, David undertakes to help him at all costs.

Did you know ? Anti-Semitism, racism, the rejection of migrants are themes that can already be found in most of the books and screenplays in which Emilie Frèche collaborated before moving on to directing. The filmmaker says: “This commitment undoubtedly comes from its origins.”

“My mother comes from Central Europe, my father from Algeria. And before that from Spain. We are uprooted people. The feeling of exile is part of my DNA. As for writing, it has always been for me a weapon to denounce what revolts me.”

More than ever by Emily Atef

With Vicky Krieps, Gaspard Ulliel, Bjorn Floberg…

What is it about ? Hélène and Mathieu have been happy together for many years. The bond that unites them is deep. Faced with an existential decision, Hélène leaves alone for Norway to seek peace and experience the strength of their love.

The Almond Trees by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi

With Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Sofiane Bennacer, Louis Garrel…

What is it about ? At the end of the 1980s, Stella, Etienne, Adèle and the whole troupe were twenty years old. They pass the entrance examination for the famous school created by Patrice Chéreau and Pierre Romans at the Amandiers theater in Nanterre.

The Women of the Square by Julien Rambaldi

With Eye Haïdara, Ahmed Sylla, Léa Drucker…

What is it about ? Angèle, a young Ivorian woman, has always gotten away with it thanks to her chat and her nerve. To avoid reprisals from a gang of thugs, she manages to get hired as the nanny of Arthur, an 8-year-old boy from uptown.

Did you know ? For Angèle, Julien Rambaldi had Eye Haïdara in mind from the writing because of her outstanding performance in Le Sens de la fête (she played a young woman with a strong character who assists Jean-Pierre Bacri in his work as organizer of parties):

“Her charisma was ideal for this role. She also succeeded in bringing out the somewhat rogue side of Angèle. We had to find her funny and we had to feel empathy for her.”

A romantic comedy by Thibault Segouin

With Alex Lutz, Golshifteh Farahani, Olivier Chantreau…

What is it about ? After disappearing overnight, César reappears in Salomé’s life and discovers that he is the father of a 3-year-old girl. This time, he will do everything to live up to their story.

Did you know ? The film was born in the mind of Thibault Segouin for three reasons. The first resides in his interest in the theme of fraternity (the filmmaker has four brothers). The second is Montmartre, a district he particularly likes. Finally, the third is the character of Caesar:

“César is a mixture of lots of Montmartre artists that I have met. There are a lot of artists in Montmartre. On the Butte, they are stars, but as they never leave the neighborhood, they are totally unknown in out.”

Ariaferma by Leonardo Di Costanzo

With Toni Servillo, Silvio Orlando, Fabrizio Ferracane…

What is it about ? Clinging to the Sardinian mountains, a dilapidated prison is being dismantled when the transfer of twelve detainees is suddenly suspended for administrative reasons. Gargiulo, the most experienced guard, is then responsible for keeping the prison running for a few more days, as a small team.

Crackling under the neon lights of FGKO

With Jérémie Laheurte, Tracy Gotoas, Bosch…

What is it about ? Under judicial supervision, Yann dreams of a new life far from the suburbs. To repay a debt, he agrees to transport to Spain, Dara, a young Nigerian prisoner of a prostitution network directed by Sumaï.

Did you know ? Crackling under the neon lights is very freely adapted (by Shérazade Khalladi and the directors Kevin Ossona and Fabrice Garçon, known as FGKO) from the novel of the same name by Rémy Lasource, who is none other than a police officer still in activity writing under a pseudonym .

All resistant in the soul of Stéphane Chatry

What is it about ? A course of several months walking from heterogeneous profiles to singular initiatives, to meet the scouts of the world of tomorrow.
