The Citroën Ami is transformed with this Fiat Topolino without a license and electric

Fiat has just lifted the veil on its new electric car without a license: the Topolino. It takes up the technical basis of the Citroën Ami, with a neo-retro look, clearly inspired by the original Fiat 500.

Cars without a license (VSP) are on the rise, especially since the arrival of the UFO Citroën Ami, the car without an electric license which has clearly dusted off the market. She is not alone, since Aixam offers electric models without a license, just like Ligier with its new Myli which we were able to try a little earlier.

Fiat Topolino: the Fiat 500 in the spotlight

The Citroën Ami is also available in an Opel version, called Rocks-e. And now a third cousin arrives at Stellantis, thanks to Fiat this time. Here is the Fiat Topolino, presented very briefly in a press release. The name is not chosen at random, since the very first petrol Fiat 500 of the 1930s was so named.

But this Fiat Topolino completely turns its back on the internal combustion engine, whether gasoline or diesel. Fiat does not give details, except that it is an all-electric quadricycle. Undoubtedly, the Fiat Topolino takes up the technical data sheet of the Citroën Ami.

The Italian-style Citroën Ami

This would translate, in fact, into a 9 kW (12 hp) engine for a limited speed of 45 km/h and a range of 75 km. But we will still have to wait, since Fiat has not revealed any figures. We do not know the price or the date of marketing.

We hope, however, that it is not a limited edition (like the Citroën My Amy Buggy), but it does not seem. Fiat thus announces: its upcoming launch ” in order to ” develop this sustainable mobility“. It should therefore be mass produced.

Its design will clearly not go unnoticed, with its sunroof, the absence of doors (replaced by ropes) and contrasting fabric accents on the dashboard. The pastel color (turquoise green) and the hubcaps add a vintage cachet to the small car. Its front end clearly suggests the new electric Fiat 500. It should please, and it is hoped that Fiat will offer doors as an option, for regions less sunny than Italy.
