To accompany the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami is obviously offering a collector’s edition. If the fans love it, there is a small detail that risks causing more than one crisis…

Forget Snake

Recently revealed in a trailer, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is already a dream for players, young and old alike. To punctuate this release, Konami is broadcasting a multi-part report on YouTube called METAL GEAR SOLID Legacy Seriesin which David Hayter, historic voice of Naked Snake and Solid Snake, presents the new mechanics and improvements of the remake. And alongside this information, the actor also presented the highly anticipated collector’s version of the title, visible below.

Priced at 199 dollars (around 184 euros), it offers, in addition to the game, a steelbook incorporating the aesthetics of the original title, the replica of the fake identification badge used by Naked Snake during the infiltration of Groznyj, patches – one from the Fox unit and the other commemorating the HALO parachute jump -, but also a terrarium based on a cult scene from the title with a miniature figurine of the protagonist. Unfortunately for us, this edition does not seem planned for Europe, leaving us only with the Deluxe version, more stingy in content and priced at $99. A news which logically did not please the fans and who did not fail to let Konami know.

The information therefore has difficulty getting through to Europeans, but that is not the only sound ringing in Konami’s ears. Fact, some fans of the original title believe that the remake would in fact only be a remaster, as the two titles are so similar. In fact, the developers have already explained reuse the original soundtracks of the first title, in addition to repeating his different scenes almost shot for shot. A choice that some consider as laziness, explaining that “not wanting to play the same game just a little nicer”.

Despite these criticisms, the title continues to remain discreet, having carefully avoided announcing any release date. However, rumors appeared on the web following a now deleted post from Gamestop, which let slip a release scheduled for November 17, thus sticking exactly with the 20 years of the original title. The information is subject to debate since it falls on a Sunday, a day carefully avoided for outings. The title is therefore still in development and is expected on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Steam.
