The competition authority fines Essilor International €81 million


PARIS, Nov 8 (Reuters) – The competition authority announced on Tuesday that it had fined Essilor international, owned by Essilorluxottica, around 81 million euros for “discriminatory commercial practices aimed at hindering development in France , the online sale of corrective lenses”.

EssilorLuxottica is sanctioned “jointly and severally” to the tune of 15.4 million euros, added the authority in a press release. (Written by Laetitia Volga, edited by Nicolas Delame)
