Microsoft is preparing for its big annual summer event, the Xbox Games Showcase, which will be held on June 9. It is now confirmed. The event, highly anticipated by fans and industry players, will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. (French time). According to information gathered, the showcase will not only include presentations of games from Activision Blizzard studios, Bethesda and Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios, but will be followed by a surprise presentation following…
An Xbox Showacase with a surprise
Although Microsoft only mentioned an upcoming iteration of a beloved franchise to keep some mystery, sources familiar with the matter confirm that it is indeed Call of Duty. This is what the very serious The Verge reports in particular. This special segment, known as Call of Duty Direct, promises to take a deep dive into what’s new in this highly anticipated FPS. Which as a reminder, bears the name (for the moment) of Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War.
This year’s Xbox Games Showcase is particularly notable because it marks the first time that games from all of Microsoft’s major studios will be showcased together. Among the expected announcements, we are awaiting the reveal of a new Gears of War game. Other highly anticipated titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed, and Indiana Jones will also have their release dates announced. The latter obviously being one of the cornerstones of the presentation.
Additionally, it’s likely that Starfield’s new expansion, titled Shattered Space, will receive an official fall release date, with Bethesda aiming for a September release. Activision plans to launch the next Call of Duty in late October, while Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are expected to follow in November, and Indiana Jones in December. Maybe we could also have some surprises for the next The Elder Scrolls? Wait and see.
